When I grow up

When I was in school, I had a job in residence which included telling a hallway full of rowdy post-highschool boys to turn down their damn music because some people were trying to sleep and study. Not surprisingly, this annoyed the hell out of them. I once heard one of them say he couldn’t wait to be out of residence so he could play his music as loud as he wanted, whenever he wanted.

I didn’t have the heart to tell him that that would never happen. You don’t grow out of having to think about how your actions affect other people. And when I put it like that, why would you want to?
