Just say no.
It turns out, in my eagerness to be stoic, I was ignoring the problems.
The benefit of mindfulness is that it lets you step back and evaluate a situation as it is. But being mindful does not mean that you have to passively accept your circumstances. It’s hard to remember that.
Don’t beat yourself up for being in a bad situation. Don’t expect too much of yourself. Sometimes you just need to say no.
