Boredom, the great muse
Boredom is the ultimate driver of the human creative process. If anything ever kills human innovation, it will be because we solved boredom.
Whenever I’m locked away from devices and human contact for 2+ hours, my fingers start to itch for a pen and paper. I just want to write. I can’t stop thinking of stories, articles, things to say and share. I’m at my most ambitious when I’m bored out of my skull.
I don’t get enough boredom in my life. I’ve checked my phone twice already while composing this short article. Your attention is valuable, and people who write software are getting good at monopolizing it.
I feel like I should delcare an electronics-free day once a week. Maybe on Sunday.
