Practice makes perfect

Today is a big day for me. It’s the day I publish this blog.

This post might not appear for a while. I wrote a tool to help me set up a backlog of posts, and it picks drafts for me to work on randomly. It’s silly, but I love it.

When I launched my first blog a few years ago, I had a panic attack when I tried to publish my first article. It took nearly an hour to work up the courage. Nobody even knew I would be posting it. There was no chance of it being seen by anyone. I still couldn’t do it.

I was terrified of not being good enough.

As I write this, the first post for this blog is already queued up and I don’t like it very much. It’s not good enough. I’m going to publish it anyway. Practice makes perfect.

That’s what I’m trying to teach myself by writing this blog. Things don’t get better unless you do something. The more often, the better.
