Ideas are not scarce

The interesting thing about practicing thinking of ideas is that you stop thinking of ideas as scarce. If you’re ever not sure what to do, go ahead and write down a list of ideas. If your answer doesn’t end up on the list, so what? At least you’re thinking of options. That’s progress.

When I was painting an artist gave some advice when some of us weren’t sure how to start. Just start painting, he told us. Paint a blob, or some squiggly lines. You can always change your mind about what it is. Just start, and keep an open mind, and see where the process takes you.

Having ideas is not your problem. If it is, all you need is practice.
